Breakfast with the Mayor
Mayor Fred Butler invites citizens to stop by a no-host Mayor’s Breakfast from 9-10 a.m. on the second Saturday of each month at rotating locations throughout the city 
to discuss topics of interest. View the schedule online.

Meet the Mayor
Mayor Fred Butler was elected in November 2013 to serve as mayor of Issaquah. He previously served on the Issaquah City Council, to which he was first elected in 1999 and subsequently re-elected in 2003, 2007 and 2011.

Fred is a retired U.S. Army Corps of Engineers colonel whose 26 years of military service include command at every level from lieutenant through colonel.

His assignments included command of a combat engineer company in Vietnam, command of a combat engineer battalion in Germany, Los Angeles District Engineer, and command of the Middle East/Africa District. He was decorated for valor on the battlefield.

Upon his retirement from the Corps, he accepted the position as chief engineer of Seattle City Light, where he served until 1996.

Since 1996, Fred has devoted his time and effort to serving his community.
