Business Licenses
Who needs a business license?
All businesses operating within the City of Issaquah limits are required to obtain a license from the City. A business includes all services and activities engaged in with the object of pecuniary gain, benefit or advantage to the person or another person or class, directly or indirectly. For a complete definition and exemptions, see Issaquah Municipal Code Section 5.02.010.

The City of Issaquah partners with the Washington Department of Revenue to issue business licenses. City licenses are added to your State Master License as an addendum and may be obtained either online or via the mail.

Courtesy, temporary and solicitor's licenses are issued by the City of Issaquah's Permit Center.

Important
Before applying for a City of Issaquah business license, please verify that you will be conducting business within the City of Issaquah limits. The neighborhoods of Klahanie and Mirrormont are not within the City of Issaquah's jurisdiction. The dotted lines on the map above indicate the city limits. Please contact the permit center at 425-837-3100 if you are not sure.
