In Issaquah, we strive to achieve the highest possible quality of life for today's citizens and future generations.
Issaquah is a developing City and our buildings have a significant impact on our economy, natural environment, health, comfort and productivity. The City places a high priority on protecting the natural environment through sustainable development practices.

Sustainable Building Action Strategy
In 2017, the City Council adopted a Sustainable Building Action Strategy (PDF). This strategy aims to position Issaquah as a leader in sustainable building through specific, actionable measures focusing on building and infrastructure design, construction, renovation, operation, education and outreach.
We Can Help
We're eager to help you achieve your goal! We're available to help with technical expertise, priority review permitting and financial incentives.
Sustainable Design Technical Assistance
The City is offering developers with multifamily or commercial projects in Issaquah an opportunity for free sustainable design technical assistance. The onetime consultation with a sustainable building consultant is provided for free.
This is an opportunity to review your development plans with a consultant knowledgeable about all major certification programs, sustainable design, construction and operations, and a wide variety of project types and issues. The consultation is designed to support your project team and help identify options, outline certification considerations, isolate potential strategies, and plan to maximize utility and other incentives.
