Much of the City's drinking water supply is pumped from groundwater aquifers, which must be protected from pollution. In addition, our streams support salmon and fish species that require clean water to survive. The City works with businesses to reduce pollution through the following programs:
- CARA - Critical Aquifer Recharge Area for groundwater protection
- FOG - Fats, Oil and Grease to improve the efficiency of our wastewater system
- Pollution Prevention - Free technical assistance for businesses to reduce stormwater pollution
The City helps businesses reduce their flood risk through education and preparedness.
