12th Ave NW & SR-900 Improvements
- This project will improve the intersection to provide additional turn lanes and will also include protected bike lanes, sidewalks, and illumination along 12th Avenue NW.
East Lake Sammamish Parkway Drainage Improvements
- The City is constructing new culverts under East Lake Sammamish Trail and SE 51st Street to improve stream flow, natural habitat, and reduce flooding impacts in North Issaquah.
- This is a multi-year capital improvement project that will create a new corridor between State Route 900 and SE 54th Street.
- Issaquah is designing improvements to Newport Way NW from NW Maple Street to W Sunset Way to enhance multi-modal travel, traffic operations and safety for all users.
Newport Way: Pedestrian Bridge & Raised Intersection
- This project will include the construction of a new pedestrian bridge across Anti-Aircraft Creek and a raised intersection and pedestrian crossing where the Cougar Precipice Trailhead meets Newport Way.
Newport Way: SR-900 to SE 54th
- The Newport Way corridor project is a multi-year capital improvement project consisting of Design, Environmental Permitting, Right-of-Way Acquisition and ultimately construction of a new corridor between State Route 900 and SE 54th Street.
NW Sammamish Road Non-Motorized Improvements
- The City is adding bicycle and pedestrian improvements on NW Sammamish Road between 193rd Place SE and the Lake Sammamish State Park entrance to increase mobility between the South Lake Sammamish neighborhoods and the Central Issaquah downtown area.
- Road, illumination and pedestrian improvements are being completed within the Olde Town neighborhood along key intersections to improve the livability for the nearby residents and assist with a reduction in traffic speeds.

Each year, the City identifies, designs and constructs small improvements throughout the City, completing near-term connections in the mobility system. This annual project focuses on sidewalk and bicycle gaps, as well as safety improvements.
- The City is adding improvements to the park which consist of a small playground, sport court and trellised sitting area.
Confluence Park Ek House Improvements
- The City is planning to use American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding for civic park improvements at the Confluence Park Ek House Shelter.
Downtown Streetscape and Alder Festival Street
- The community expressed strong support for making Alder Street into a festival street. A festival street is a public street that has been designated for recurring temporary closure to vehicular traffic for the purpose of pedestrian-oriented special events.
- This project will convert of a portion of High Street in the Issaquah Highlands to a multi-use trail with adjacent recreational amenities and an overlook.
- The City is completing some mitigation work to address drainage issues in the park and add some soft play elements to improve the City's only "walk-in" park.
Pedestrian Park and Senior Center Plazas
- The City is planning to use American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding for civic park improvements at Veterans Memorial Consolidated Park - Pedestrian Park & Senior Center Plazas.

- The Land Use Code update is a citywide effort aimed at improving the regulations that guide growth and development in Issaquah. This project will help us better preserve, strengthen and protect the patterns of development that define the character of the City.
- The City of Issaquah is developing a Transit Study to provide a framework to guide future transportation investments in accordance with the community’s vision and goals.
- A new set of comprehensive City park, facility and wayfinding signage will ensure residents and visitors know how to find important destinations throughout our community.
Lower Issaquah Creek Restoration
- The Lower Issaquah Creek Stream and Riparian Habitat Enhancement Project will restore approximately 1,200 feet of degraded stream channel.
Transit Orientated Development (TOD) Project
- The City is working with King County Housing Authority on a mixed-use, transit-oriented development (TOD)
