January Birding at Lake Sammamish State Park
Friday, January 10, 2020
January is the perfect time to step outside and admire your local feathered friends. With many of the migratory birds already south for the season, bird watchers are likely to see favorites that winter in the Pacific Northwest such as northern flickers, bald eagles, American coots, and great blue herons.
Join Eastside Audubon for its monthly bird walk at Lake Sammamish State Park to see the wide variety of birds and animals that inhabit the park. Stan Wood will lead the tour.
The bird walk will extend 2-3 miles. Dress appropriately (rainproof in layers; some of the trails can be muddy if wet). Meet at 8 a.m. From the park’s main entrance, take the first left into the large parking lot and meet at the northeast end. A Discover Pass is required to park. The walk is free and open to the public. No registration required.
