EnviroStars

The City of Issaquah is proud to honor the efforts of 14 EnviroStars-certified businesses and organizations for their commitment to environmentally-responsible practices.

Businesses are certified based on a range of practices and policies that demonstrate a commitment to being environmentally sustainable and preventing pollution, with a focus on reducing hazardous materials and wastes.

EnviroStars is a service of the Local Hazardous Waste Management Program of King County. The City of Issaquah is a partner agency in the Local Hazardous Waste Program, represented by the Sound Cities Association.

Congratulations to the following businesses and organizations for receiving EnviroStars certification:

• Swedish/Issaquah is saving costs on pesticides by using techniques which focus on sustainable practices and the least-toxic products to manage pest problems. Natural landscaping practices protect patients, visitors and staff, as well as the environment.

There are 450 certified businesses in King County and 850 statewide. EnviroStars invest in practices that contribute to a thriving business economy, help to protect public and employee health, and preserve the natural resources that we all enjoy.

The public is encouraged to look for the EnviroStars logo when choosing a business. Find a complete directory of certified businesses, from car repair to veterinary clinics, at envirostars.org.
