[ARCHIVED] - Small Business Saturday: Support Local Entrepreneurs -

Small Business Saturday

Small Business Saturday is huge for local entrepreneurs.

Support local businesses and organizations by opting to Shop Small during the holiday season. Shop Small is a local effort to make Small Business Saturday — Nov. 29, 2014 — the biggest shopping day of the year for Issaquah businesses.

To make getting around to shopping destinations easier, free trolleys will run from noon-8 p.m.

Trolleys — not to be confused with Issaquah’s railroad trolley — will make a loop every 30 minutes from the Hailstone Feed Store, 232 Front St. N., through historic downtown Issaquah, Issaquah Highlands and Gilman Village.

Several businesses will offer discounts and specials for the event. Other Small Business Saturday activities include:

• ArtEAST presents the Season of Gratitude Paper Bag Books drop-in holiday workshop at Blakely Hall, 2550 Park Drive N.E., 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Complete easy writing prompts about gratitude, bind them into a paper bag book and add a few embellishments to create a personalized gift. No registration is required and all materials are included. A $5 donation per participant is suggested.

• Sammamish Symphony Orchestra offers a free performance at the Hailstone Feed Store, noon.

• ArtEAST, Museo Art Academy and So, There offer art activities throughout the day.

Santa Trolley and Deck the Depot, presented by the Issaquah History Museums, at the Issaquah Depot Museum, 78 First Ave. N.E., 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
