It’s time to zero in on energy!
A free home energy efficiency workshop will be held in Issaquah from 5:30-7 p.m. Feb 12 at the Pickering Barn, 1730 10th Ave. N.W.
Mayor Ava Frisinger will be introducing the event, which is presented by Community Energy Solutions, a local non-profit organization with demonstrated success in promoting community-based sustainable energy practices.
The workshop will focus on how homeowners can achieve greater energy savings with less time and money invested. By taking an integrative approach, saving 50 percent or more on home energy bills while improving comfort can be simple and affordable.
The comprehensive workshop goes far beyond the modest savings of changing out incandescent light bulbs. In particular, people will learn:
• The advantages of an energy upgrade, and how taking an integrated approach will save you money and time.
• What air sealing and building envelope repair are, and why they are so effective.
• How adding insulation can have a profound impact to your home - if it is done correctly.
• That upgrading to a high-efficiency heating, ventilating and cooling system (HVAC) will take a big bite out of your energy bills.
• Why it makes dollars and sense now to install a solar energy system.
Presenting organizations include A&R Solar, Integrity Energy Systems, Puget Sound Cooperative Credit Union, Puget Sound Energy, and Vesta Home Performance.
The event is free and everyone is welcome.
