We’re seeking five members for our Independent Salary Commission to review City Council compensation.
A member must be a King County registered voter and a resident of Issaquah for at least one year prior to the appointment. No officer, official, or employee of the City or any of their immediate family members may serve on the commission. Current board and commission members are not eligible to apply.

Mayor Fred Butler will appoint commissioners, with terms effective April 1, 2015. The commission is expected to begin meeting in April and complete its report by June 30.
The commission will study the relationship between council members’ salaries and the costs personally incurred by council members to perform these duties. In addition, the commission will examine how council members’ compensation compares with nearby cities and market conditions.
In Issaquah, the current salary for a council member is $700 per month ($8,400 per year), $750 per month ($9,000) for the deputy council president and $800 per month ($9,600) for the council president.
