The Issaquah City Council recently selected Joe Forkner to fill its vacant seat.
Forkner, who served on the council from 2000-2007, is an engineering technician for a private engineering and surveying company in Issaquah.
During the last 15 years, he has also served on the City’s Cable Television Commission, Development Commission, Planning Policy Commission, Park Board and Civil Service Commission.
In addition, Forkner is a member of the Issaquah Chamber of Commerce, and has served as a board member for both the chamber and Downtown Issaquah Association.
Forkner will serve until someone is elected for Position #1 during the November 2013 General Election. That person will then serve the remainder of the term, which expires Dec. 31, 2013.
Councilmember Mark Mullet resigned from Position #1 after he was elected to serve as Senator to Washington State’s 5th Legislative District.
