[ARCHIVED] - Election 2015: Candidate Filing Starts May 11 -

Issaquah residents interested in running for public office can soon file as candidates with King County Elections.

Online filing is May 11-15, 2015. Paper forms must be returned to King County Elections no later than 4:30 p.m. May 15. Candidates can also file in person from 8:30 a.m. May 11 until 4:30 p.m. May 15.

To become a candidate for office, a voter must complete and file a declaration of candidacy.

If you’re interested in learning more about running for office, King County Elections offers candidate resources.

In the City of Issaquah, three City Council positions are open in the November 2015 general election. The positions are for four-year terms. The open positions include:

• City Council Position 2

• City Council Position 4

• City Council Position 6

The candidates elected in November will take office in January 2016. The council salary is $700 per month ($8,400 per year).

In addition to City offices, voters can learn more about open Issaquah School District and King County offices from King County Elections .
