The annual Issaquah Triathlon returns June 6, 2015.
The event is scheduled to start and end at Lake Sammamish State Park, and run from 7-10:30 a.m. The bike route leads cyclists from Lake Sammamish State Park along Northwest Sammamish Road, through Southeast 56th Street, 220th Avenue Southeast and East Lake Sammamish Parkway Southeast.
Drivers should prepare for lane closures as cyclists navigate the course.
The right southbound lane of Northwest Sammamish Road will be closed to cars, and cones will be set up to direct cyclists. One lane each of northbound and southbound East Lake Sammamish Parkway Southeast will be closed to cars, and cones will be set up to direct cyclists.
Additional police officers will be posted along the course to help with traffic flow, ensure the safety of participants and the smooth flow of cars.
The City of Issaquah has issued a special event permit for the Issaquah Triathlon. Organizers expect 900 cyclists to participate. The event benefits Arbor Schools.
