[ARCHIVED] - ArtWalk: Learn to Draw Your Dog -

Celebrate the 14th season of ArtWalk with us!

Visit Olde Town Issaquah to meet business owners, enjoy live music, watch artists in action, experience children’s activities, shop and dine from 6-9 p.m. July 10, 2015.

Join artEAST and the Downtown Issaquah Association for the following activities:

K-9 Figure Drawing

If you love man’s best friend — and drawing too — ArtWalk is the place for both! Join members of the artEAST figure drawing group and get mini-lessons on how to draw your furry friend.

Don't want to draw? No worries! Watching others quickly draw is just as much fun. There will have plenty of chairs for anyone to check out the action!

artEAST is seeking friendly, leashed dogs that are capable of sitting attentively with their owner for a few minutes to participate.

Wheel Throwing Clay

Have you ever wanted to try your hand at making a pot on the potter’s wheel? Now is your chance to spin yourself silly! Participants will get hands-on instruction on the art of centering clay to make a small bowl or cup. No experience necessary — just a desire to try something new.

Printmaking

Printmaking will literally show you how to make your mark on the world. There are more ways to work with ink on paper than simply with a paintbrush or pen. Participants will quickly learn about expression through imagery, gestural shapes and lines while discovering the art of relief printmaking. Come explore how to design your own mark through carving, and printing images.

Oil Pastel Painting

Oil pastel is a great medium to blend a little color and mix up your Art Walk experience! Let us show you how to get your hands a little dirty while learning the basics of oil pastels to create a small colorful masterpiece. You will learn about blending and layering colors to capture all the excitement.

Outdoor Painting

It's summer time — and what a great time to paint outside (also known as the French tradition of en plein air). artEAST instructor Jason Liekhus brings extensive experience working with young artists and teaching key fundamentals and classical skills. Get your brushes moving, pick up some tips from Jason and capture all the Art Walk excitement in color.

ArtWalk is presented by the Downtown Issaquah Association.

Get your event map at the Hailstone Feed Store, 232 Front St. N., or downtownissaquah.com.
