[ARCHIVED] Junior Ranger Program: Get Close to Nature

Children can get close to nature with Lake Sammamish State Park’s Junior Ranger Program.

Programs take place each weekend throughout the summer from 1-2:30 p.m. and 5-6:30 p.m. on Saturdays and from 1-2:30 p.m. on Sundays at the new Sunset Beach Bathhouse at Lake Sammamish State Park, 2000 N.W. Sammamish Road.

The programs are designed for children of all ages and will vary from weekend to weekend.

All programs will feature hands-on nature topics and crafts, such as creating bird masks, bat ears, bug goggles, kites, paper tree-vests and recycled bottle bird feeders. Kids will also have the opportunity to decorate their bikes and parade around the trails with park rangers on posted dates.

Find more information about each weekend’s programs on the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission’s calendar.

Lake Sammamish State Park offers a great outdoor day-use experience in an urban setting with hiking and biking trails, swim beach, nine boat ramps, kitchen shelter, horseshoe pits, kayak rentals, softball and volleyball fields, and more.
