On Feb. 25, Issaquah police responded to a head-on collision in the 22800 block of Southeast 43rd Way in Issaquah. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a Chrysler car had crossed over into oncoming traffic and collided with a Ford truck.
Witnesses at the scene reported that the car was driving eastbound on Southeast 43rd Way without headlights. The car suddenly crossed over into the oncoming westbound lane and collided with the truck.
Eastside Fire & Rescue freed the driver of the car, an 83-year-old Issaquah female, and transported her to Harborview hospital. The driver of the truck, a 31-year-old Renton man, was treated and released at the scene for a wrist injury.
Later in the week, Issaquah police were notified that the female driver died at the hospital due to her injuries.
