[ARCHIVED] - Volunteer to Keep Issaquah Beautiful -

The Kiwanis Club of Issaquah is bringing back a tradition with a citywide Spring Clean Up.

The event will be from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, April 20, in honor of Earth Day. Volunteers will concentrate on areas south of Interstate 90.

Volunteers are needed to spend a couple of hours making a difference in their community. If you can pick up litter, push a broom, swing a shovel or plant flowers, your help is needed. Assignments include cleaning, weeding and litter pick-up.

There are flexible schedules, and jobs for all ages and abilities. Students can earn community service hours by volunteering.

The Downtown Issaquah Association is encouraging businesses in historic downtown to clean up sidewalks, flower boxes and more.

Volunteers should meet at the historic Shell Station, 232 Front St. N., to check in. The projects will be from 9 a.m.-noon and refreshments will follow from noon-2 p.m.

Contact Karen Donovan at to sign up yourself or your group at events@downtownissaquah.com via email or at 425-391-1112. Please provide number of people, age group, hours available and location preference if you have one.
