We know Issaquah is a great place to visit — and we want to hear your ideas for attracting visitors to our community.
Our Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC) is seeking funding requests for promotion and marketing efforts that boost tourism and lodging — specifically, activities that lead to “heads in beds,” or overnight stays.
The committee will give special consideration to projects with detailed work programs and a proven track record of bringing visitors to Issaquah, as well as to projects that will use LTAC funds to leverage additional support.
We expect to have $160,000 available for 2016 grants.
Apply online. The application deadline is 4 p.m. Sept. 24, 2015. To learn more, email Economic Development Manager Andrea Snyder.
Our 1 percent lodging tax is collected primarily by four hotel and motels, and allocated to the Lodging Tax Fund. Per state law, proceeds can only be used to pay all or any part of the cost of tourism promotion, acquisition of tourism-related facilities or the operation of tourism-related facilities.
LTAC reviews and recommends funding requests for programs or projects that seek lodging tax funds. The committee includes one City Council member, two lodging representatives and two past grant recipients.
