Help the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust improve the environment and recreation opportunities on public lands in and near Issaquah.

The nonprofit organization needs volunteers for projects on Squak and Tiger mountains, and at Squak Valley Park North, in the coming weeks.

Join the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust for trail maintenance on Squak Mountain on Saturday, March 23. Volunteers are needed from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. for the all-day event. The sign-up form is available on the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust website.

Remove invasive blackberry plants at the City of Issaquah’s Squak Valley Park North on Saturday, March 30.

Participants can volunteer for a morning shift from 9 a.m.-noon, an afternoon shift from noon-3 p.m. or an all-day shift from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The sign-up form is available on the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust website.

Nestled between Squak and Tiger mountains, Squak Valley Park North encompasses about 11 acres of former farmland along Issaquah Creek. The park serves as a vital wildlife corridor through the Issaquah Alps.

The City of Issaquah is working to enhance stream, riparian and wetland habitats throughout the park.

Help repair and maintain trails on Tiger Mountain on Saturday, April 6, and Saturday, April 13. Volunteers are needed both days from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. for the all-day events.
Learn more about the events, and sign up to volunteer, at Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust Volunteer Opportunities website.

The popular hiking destination includes 65 miles of trails and 29 miles of gravel roads. Constant usage causes them to erode over time. Volunteers at Tiger Mountain will help repair overused trails by resurfacing, brushing and fixing drainage issues.
