Central Issaquah is our area’s newest regional growth center.
Our community's Central Issaquah Plan aims to transform the area — currently a collection of strip malls, office buildings and parking lots — into a vibrant, walkable community with new housing, jobs, shopping and parks.
In a unanimous decision Jan. 28, 2016, Puget Sound Regional Council (PSRC)'s Executive Board voted to certify Central Issaquah as a regional growth center.
Supporting centers and the corridors that serve them is one of the main criteria for selecting projects to receive PSRC's federal transportation funds.
In addition, centers form a key part of VISION 2040 — a regional strategy to address our area's growth.
In June 2015, PSRC board members approved Issaquah’s application for a regional growth center designation.
