Councilmember Jennifer Sutton will resign from the City Council next month to embark on a diplomatic assignment with the U.S. Foreign Service.
Next, councilmembers will set a timeline and a process for naming a new councilmember. The council seat will open after Sutton steps down from the Position 2 seat March 31, 2016.
In order to be considered for a vacant council seat, qualified candidates must be at least 18 years old, a registered voter and resident of the City of Issaquah for at least one year prior to the appointment.
