Each spring, a nationwide high school arts competition is sponsored by the members of the U.S. House of Representatives.
The annual Congressional Art Competition is an opportunity to recognize and encourage the artistic talent in the nation, as well as in the 8th Congressional District.
The contest is open to all high school students in the 8th District, which includes Issaquah and is represented by U.S. Rep. Dave Reichert. The overall winner of our district's competition will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol.
Candidates must reside in 8th Congressional District, and must complete the Student Release Form, as well as notify Reichert’s office of their participation by April 15, 2016.
A reception will be held for the participants and their guests April 22. Students can drop off their artwork from 8 a.m.-noon at Lake Wilderness Lodge, 22500 S.E. 248th St., Maple Valley.
