[ARCHIVED] - You're Invited: artEAST 'Roots' and 'What If' Exhibitions -

You're invited to artEAST exhibitions at the artEAST Art Center and Blakely Hall.

"Roots" — on display at the artEAST Art Center, 95 Front St. N., through April 16, 2016 — features the work of Valaree Cox and Sandi Bransford.
The theme of "Roots" can be interpreted in many different ways.

The larger and more complex meaning — Where do we come from? — is the response that links the work of Cox and Bransford.

From anthropology to family trees, both artists have explored new territory resulting in art of a deeply personal and complex nature, each driven by the desire to delve into the past.

"What If" — on display at Blakely Hall, 2550 N.E. Park Drive, through April 20 — welcomes visitors to the magical world of possibilities with artEAST member Pamela Holderman.

The exhibition asks guests to imagine: What if corgis had access to stilts, pigs won truffle-hunting contests, mermaids freely shared their hearts, deer played on rooftops and animal picnics were a daily occurrence?

Holderman's art weaves connection between color, texture, line, found objects and story.
