[ARCHIVED] - Celebrate Composting Efforts With a Deal -

When you compost food and yard waste in Issaquah, you're helping to divert organic waste from the landfill.

Nearly 30 percent of the residential waste that ends up in the King County landfill is food scraps and food-soiled paper. That's more than all the recyclable plastic, paper, glass and metal currently in the garbage waste stream!

To thank customers for composting, Cedar Grove is offering a coupon for compost valid through April 17, 2016 — buy any two Cedar Grove bagged products, and get one bag of compost free.

Composting is good for your garden and our environment because:

  • It saves water by helping the soil hold moisture and reduce water runoff.
  • It benefits the environment by recycling organic resources while conserving landfill space.
  • It adds nutrients to the plant and reduces the need for commercial fertilizers.
