[ARCHIVED] - Officers Arrest Copper Thief After Foot Chase -

The Issaquah Police Department arrested a man at 4:34 a.m. April 5, 2013, for attempting to steal copper wire from a home under construction.

Officers responded to the suspicious man in the 2600 block of Northwest Pine Cone Place.

When officers arrived, the suspect ran. After a short foot pursuit, the suspect was arrested.

With further investigation, it was discovered that the suspect, a 55-year-old Seattle man, was attempting to remove wiring from the home.

The man was later booked into the King County Jail for second-degree burglary, second-degree malicious mischief, obstructing a public servant and having burglar tools.

This incident is a good reminder for the community to report any suspicious activity at construction sites.
