[ARCHIVED] - Project Update: Overnight Closures and Daytime Work -

As work continues to improve Front Street for drivers and pedestrians, prepare for full overnight closures and daytime lane closures.

To create a more pedestrian-friendly Olde Town, we're improving sidewalks, installing beacons at crosswalks and adding ADA-compliant curb ramps.

While we will do our best to work with residents, businesses, drivers and pedestrians, there will be some disruptions. Please note, businesses will remain open during construction.

Immediate Impacts

  • A section of Front Street North, between Sunset Way and Northwest Dogwood Street, will close to traffic from 10 p.m.-6 a.m. July 11-15, 2016.
  • Starting July 18, you will also notice more daytime work. Front Street, between Sunset and Dogwood, may be reduced to one lane from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
  • No on-street parking is allowed on either side of Front Street from Sunset Way to Northwest Alder Place. Crews are using that space to work and stage equipment. The closure, which will continue through August, allows crews to work more quickly and prevent delays by allowing easier access to sidewalks and the street.
  • Future Impacts

In the weeks ahead, future construction impacts will include:

    • Two full weekend closures of Front Street.
    • No work will be allowed onsite during special events, such as the July 8 and Aug. 5 ArtWalk events.

Construction to enhance Front Street will wrap up before Salmon Days.
