[ARCHIVED] - You're Invited: Meet artEAST's Artist in Residence -

You’re invited to artEAST's latest exhibitions!

Meet Lindsay Peyton, artEAST's first artist in residence at artEAST Art Center, 95 Front St. N.

Peyton will transform the exhibition space into an art laboratory in an installation titled "Life, Examined" — on display now through Sept. 18, 2016.

Peyton is primarily a painter; she will create a room as if one of her renderings of interior spaces has come to life, giving a sense of magic and whimsy.

In this laboratory, experiments will be conducted to mirror the artistic and scientific process of examining life. The lab will be a space where guests are invited to enter and start their own explorations into memory and emotion.

Peyton's approximate schedule at artEAST is 1-7:30 p.m. Thursdays, and 3-7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Stop by and see what she's creating!

At Blakely Hall, 2550 N.E. Park Drive, artEAST and the Issaquah Highlands Photography Club have joined forces to bring you an exhibition highlighting travel photography

"Community Wanderings" is on display now through Sept. 8. The diverse theme focuses on distant, exotic places as well as the everyday beauty in our own communities.

Each photographer has brought a unique perspective to this show, whether through a focus on texture, composition, the play of light and shadow or the abstraction of detail. The intention is that these images will give the viewer pause to reflect on the uniqueness and the beauty of the world we live in.
