[ARCHIVED] Salmon Friendly Trips: Win Big With Your Commute

Salmon Friendly Trips is Issaquah's portal to regional ridematching and incentives. Each month, 25 lucky winners traveling to or from Issaquah earn a $25 REI gift card just for taking Salmon Friendly Trips!

Starting Sept. 1, 2016, the first 100 new Salmon Friendly Trips users are also eligible to earn a Salmon Friendly Trips Liberty BottleWorks water bottle to keep you hydrated on your travels! Log 16 days of non-drive-alone travel (carpool, vanpool, bus, bike, walk, compressed work week or telework) to be eligible. Only trips logged to or from a location within the Issaquah city limits are eligible.

How do I participate?

  1. Create an online account. (A previously-created account on will work here.) You'll be asked for your home and work address.
  2. If you're creating a new account, you'll be asked to validate your email address.
  3. Find a carpool or vanpool partner match by visiting your "Ridematch" tab and selecting "Create a trip."
  4. Log your non-drive-alone trips on your Salmon Friendly Trips calendar and become eligible for the Issaquah incentives! Visit your "Rewards" tab and then click on "Incentive Programs" to see all the regional rewards for which you're eligible.

The City of Issaquah chose salmon as our mascot to further educate commuters about the connection between pollution caused by transportation choices and the impact those choices have on our environmental quality of life. Choosing a Salmon Friendly Trip reduces traffic, can save you money and creates a more sustainable environment for all of us!
