[ARCHIVED] - Innovative Neighborhood Proposed in Issaquah Highlands -

Polygon Homes has proposed a walkable neighborhood arranged around an innovative feature — a pedestrian-friendly street called a woonerf.

Plans for the project, Viewridge, call for 38 attached residential units on individual lots. The neighborhood’s 3.54-acre site is west of Northeast 25th Street at Northeast Logan Street and Northeast Mulberry Street.

The City Development Services Department recently received a final plat application for the project. The preliminary plat for the neighborhood was approved in February 2012.

The project aims to create a public realm for residents and visitors to socialize, through the woonerf and a trail through the site.

Homes will have direct pedestrian connections through the woonerf to give pedestrians priority over vehicles. In fact, every front door in Viewridge will face the woonerf, trails or green spaces. A trail system through the neighborhood connects homes to nearby local and regional trails.
