Tis the season — to prepare for your post-holiday cleanup.
Our service provider, Recology CleanScapes, will collect natural, undecorated, unflocked holiday trees in lengths up to 4 feet. Customers who already subscribe to compost collection can put their trees out for pickup on their regular compost collection day.
Household customers in Recology CleanScapes' Issaquah service area who do not already subscribe to compost services can still have a properly prepared tree collected as compost during the first two full weeks of 2017 (Jan. 2-6 and Jan. 9-13) for no charge.
Flocked trees are not accepted in compost collection. Flocking can often contain non-compostable materials, including adhesives, flame retardant, or additives to make the flocking glitter and shine. Flocked trees are considered garbage, and are not accepted at tree recycling facilities.
Contact Recology CleanScapes customer service at 425-837-1234 or via email by Jan. 6 to schedule a tree collection.
In addition, Boy Scout troops will collect natural, undecorated, unflocked trees during their 32nd Annual Scout Tree Drive in Sammamish and Issaquah Highlands from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Jan. 7. No reservation is required. Trees must be placed curbside by 8 a.m. Boy Scouts request a donation of $15 to $30 for each tree out for collection.
Trees can also be dropped off for recycling at Pacific Topsoils, 9830 Renton-Issaquah Road S.E,, for recycling for $3 per tree.
