[ARCHIVED] - You're Invited: Sweets & Sweeties Depot Playdate -

Just in time for Valentine's Day, celebrate the season at the Issaquah History Museums' Depot Playdate on Feb. 4, 2017.

Children of all ages are invited to the depot, 78 First Ave. N.E., to celebrate "Sweets & Sweeties." Drop in between 11 a.m.-2 p.m. for the free event; coffee or tea is also provided.

Join your children for a hands-on exploration of February traditions of the past.

Volunteers and kids will talk about important people in our lives and how we show them they are important.

One homesick soldier's request for cookies from mom will guide conversation about the powerful connections between food and love.

Kids will look at reproductions of Valentines and other “love” notes between friends and family.

Participants will be able to decorate valentines and/or a cookie to take home.

The museums' Depot Playdate program helps children to foster a connection with the past while having fun. Each drop-in program focuses on a theme of Issaquah's history, illustrated by a hands-on activity, and one or more resources from the collection of the Issaquah History Museums.
