Recology CleanScapes is seeking local artists for its Artist in Residence (AIR) Program.
The program provides artists the opportunity to create art using materials gathered from the company’s recycling facility in South Seattle.
The residency includes:
- Access to a wide range of materials that flow through the recycling facility
- A well-equipped studio space
- Monthly stipend of $1,000
- An exhibition during Seattle's Pioneer Square First Thursday Art Walk
The AIR Program seeks to inspire communities to think critically about waste, and encourage individuals to recycle and conserve natural resources.
The 2017 residency runs from April to August. Applications will be accepted until March 1, 2017.
Two artists will be selected to participate. During the application process, Recology CleanScapes encourages artists to tour the recycling facility. To reserve a spot on a tour and learn more about the program, contact Danielle Gambogi.
