[ARCHIVED] Join Us: Meeting on Central Issaquah Districts

In 2012 — to protect Issaquah's existing neighborhoods and natural environment — the City adopted the Central Issaquah Plan (CIP) to guide the long-term evolution of our community's existing commercial core into an urban center.

During a July 2016 check-up on the Central Issaquah Plan, the City assessed whether projects that have been built, approved or are currently under review met the community's vision for Central Issaquah.

The City Council enacted a moratorium on certain types of development, enabling the City to address several issues before more development proceeds, including visions for each Central Issaquah district.

The City’s Planning Policy Commission will kick off a public process of reevaluating these district (neighborhood) visions during a meeting at 6:30 p.m. March 9 in Council Chambers, 135 E. Sunset Way.

Community members are invited to attend and hear more about the process, talk with the commission and staff, and submit their ideas about the evolution of these neighborhoods.
