You're invited to a free community event — Stronger Together: Defeating Fear Through the Power of Storytelling — featuring TEDx speaker Luis Ortega.
The current political climate has raised many questions and concerns within the immigrant community. The event will provide an opportunity to reinforce some important topics that can help our children and community grow stronger.
The free community event is 6-8 p.m. March 31, 2017, at the Issaquah Senior Center, 75 N.E. Creek Way. Join us for an inspirational event, including discussion tables with counselors, mental health specialists, support groups and more!
Ortega is a TEDx speaker, educator, and the director and founder of Storytellers for Change. Over the last 11 years, he has traveled across the nation to share his personal narrative and message about the power of storytelling and story-listening to generate empathy, promote inclusion and inspire action.
The event is presented by Chinese Information and Service Center, City of Issaquah, Issaquah School District, Issaquah PTSA Council, Issaquah Schools Foundation, Cultural Bridges for Education and the King County Library System.
