At approximately 1:22 a.m. May 28, 2017, the Issaquah Police Department asked for assistance from Washington State Patrol Criminal Investigation Division detectives with a fatal hit-and-run.
The crime occurred on 231st Avenue Southeast in the area of Southeast 53rd Street. A group of four individuals was walking along the side of 231st Avenue, and was navigating around parked cars when a white Jeep Grand Cherokee struck and killed one of the individuals, a 21-year-old man.
The Jeep then fled the area without stopping.
Washington State Patrol detectives processed the scene and have been conducting interviews on a daily basis. They are making progress in solving this tragic crime.
The driver of this vehicle is being sought for vehicular homicide/felony hit-and-run.
At approximately 10:26 a.m. June 2, a Washington State Patrol trooper found the vehicle, which had been reported as being over the side of an embankment on State Route 900 west of Issaquah city limits.
The vehicle is currently in the state patrol's evidence storage facility, and will be processed by the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab to obtain anything of evidentiary value.
