[ARCHIVED] - Education Docent Training: Share Your Love of Nature -

Share your passion for nature by serving as a volunteer environmental education docent at Lake Sammamish State Park.

The park is offering a five-hour docent training program. The training introduces environmental education methods and techniques.

Participants who successfully complete the training will receive a docent certification and be eligible to lead environmental education programs at the park

Lake Sammamish State Park volunteer docents assist park rangers with a variety of programs, including nature hikes, educational crafting activities, formal school programs and drop-in educational stations.

Training is 9 a.m.-2 p.m. June 3, 2017, at the Lake Sammamish State Park office, 2010 N.W. Sammamish Road.

The training cost is $20 per person, or $10 for seniors or students, and includes a light lunch. Sign up online.

The training culminates with participants leading short educational activities during the June 10 GO Expo.
