[ARCHIVED] Apply Now: Destination Marketing Organization Board

Issaquah is forming "Visit Issaquah" – a destination marketing organization dedicated to promoting tourism in the region – and is searching for members of its first Board of Directors.

This newly-formed entity is looking for a dedicated and qualified group of individuals that will establish strong governance and leadership for this nonprofit organization.

The board will be tasked with a variety of objectives, including bylaws, strategic planning, vision, budget and prioritizing. The board will also create the job description for a full-time Executive Director, and ultimately recruit and hire for the position.
  
The terms will be divided into two and three-years of service, and members must be willing to dedicate approximately three to seven hours per month to the organization.

The group is looking for individuals in the following industries: attractions, entertainment, events, finance, marketing, lodging, legal, associations, recreation and restaurants.  

Applicants should also possess the following strengths: 
  • Leadership
  • A sound knowledge of tourism
  • A rich knowledge of Issaquah and its history 
  • Experience serving on a board of directors
  • Experience in being a decision maker within your organization
