Veterans Day in Issaquah will see two events take place to honor veterans.
Starting at 9:30 a.m. there will be an event at Blakely Hall in the Issaquah Highlands. This is the 4th Annual Issaquah Highlands Veterans Day, a family-friendly tribute to our veterans.
The ceremony, anchored by raising of the colors, is about 30 minutes long and a reception will follow with refreshments to encourage all to linger and get acquainted. Click here for more information.
Starting at 11 a.m. there is a service at the Issaquah Senior Center. Mayor Mary Lou Pauly will be speaking. Liberty High School Junior Naval ROTC Color Guard will also be in attendance. The service should last about 45 minutes. All are welcome.
After the service there is a reception and a video highlighting the most recent Puget Sound Honor Flight. The Honor Flight Network is a non-profit organization created solely to honor America’s veterans for all their sacrifices. They transport our heroes to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials. To learn more about The Honor Flight Network click here.
