Help shape our future as a member of the Issaquah City Council.
We’re seeking qualified candidates to fill a vacancy on the City Council.
Bill Ramos, who holds Position No. 4 on the Issaquah City Council, has been elected to serve as state representative, therefore, his council seat will become vacant Jan. 1, 2019.
Here’s what you need to know to apply:
- In order to be considered for the vacant council seat, qualified candidates must be at least 18 years old; a registered voter; and resident of the City of Issaquah for at least one year prior to the appointment.
- Complete our online application by 10 a.m. Jan. 8.

If you apply, you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Provide a 10-minute verbal presentation to the City Council Jan. 14.
- Attend a meet-and-greet with council and community members Jan. 22.
The City Council expects to fill the vacancy Feb. 4, and if the appointee is present at the meeting, the oath of office may be conducted then.
The appointee to the vacant seat will serve until the November 2019 general election is certified.
