[ARCHIVED] City's Matt Mechler wins Jim Ellis Spirit Award

Congratulations to Matt Mechler, of the City of Issaquah's Parks Department, who received the Jim Ellis Spirit Award during the Mountains to Sound Greenway Annual Dinner on November 28, 2018. 

The Jim Ellis Spirit Award recognizes individuals, organizations, or partnerships that embody and exemplify Greenway values (inclusive, collaborative, trusted, positive, pragmatic, impactful) in their effort to advance the Greenway vision. Named for Greenway Founding President Jim Ellis.

Matt Mechler serves as the open space steward for the City of Issaquah, and coordinates ecological restoration, trail maintenance, and volunteer projects on city parks and natural areas. He is an ambassador for open space preservation and ecological restoration, and has contributed to the development of iconic Confluence Park, restoration of Sammamish Cove, and many other parks in the connected network of parks along Issaquah Creek and beyond.
