Washington State Department of Transportation will be presenting an overview of its I-90 Peak Use Shoulder Lanes project to the Issaquah City Council at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 29 in Council Chambers.
You can also watch live, or afterward on YouTube.
Council members will have an opportunity to hear about the design, and ask questions regarding the overall scope and engineering of the project.
In addition, the City is looking to leverage the project to improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists, by widening the shoulder on Northwest Sammamish Road between Southeast 51st Street and Schneider Creek (often called the “pinch point”).
City Council members will be reviewing funding options for widening the shoulder “pinch point” – along with other capital projects throughout the City – in the next few months.
Future phases will aim at improving non-motorized access along other sections of the corridor, but those phases will take more time to complete.
