The City is considering amendments to its Land Use Code that would no longer allow the following development in areas zoned SF-S:
- New duplexes; and
- The use of the City’s cluster housing provision to allow new, attached housing.
If approved by the City Council, any existing duplexes or clustered housing would be allowed to remain as a legally non-conforming use, but no new attached housing could be built.
This proposal is consistent with the City’s goal to focus new housing development into the urban core of Central Issaquah, instead of suburban areas.
