[ARCHIVED] Winners: Green Globe Award

The City of Issaquah and The Trust for Public Land were recently honored as leaders in open space conservation for their efforts to preserve land on Cougar Mountain commonly known as the Bergsma property.

Both agencies received a 2019 Green Globe Award, which is King County’s highest honor for local environmental efforts.

“Imagine a world if…the norm was a culture of open space conservation, where creative regional partnerships save vital forests, farmlands and rivers before it is too late from development and ensure easy access to green space for all King County residents,” the county’s announcement said.

King County Executive Dow Constantine recognized 13 businesses, cities, organizations and people this year for the work they’re doing to protect and improve the local environment.
