Posted on: May 9, 2019[ARCHIVED] - Notice: Old Skate Park Removal -
Now that Issaquah’s new skate park is open, it is time to retire the City’s original skate park, which was built in July 1997 near the Community Center.
After gathering input from skaters and the community at large, it was decided to replace our aging skatepark with a new facility at a more visible location.
Issaquah’s new skate park, designed by nationally-recognized Grindline Skateparks, opened in 2017. It provides features for skaters of all ages – from novice to pro.
The new skate park is located at Tibbetts Valley Park, 965 12th Ave. N.W.
The removal of the smaller, aging skate park near the Community Center will begin May 13, 2019. No traffic impacts are expected.
The long-term future of this site will be shaped by future community engagement, as well as the City’s Parks Strategic Plan. Sign up for Parks & Recreation updates at issaquahwa.gov/notifyme.
