[ARCHIVED] - Summer Work Planned Along Second Avenue Northwest -

This summer, improvements are coming to the neighborhood along Second Avenue Northwest, including new stormwater pipes and catch basins that replace damaged and old systems, as well as new pavement on the roadway.

The first part of the work, which includes trenching the roadway and installing approximately 600 feet of new storm pipe and catch basins, will begin June 24.

Work hours will be from 7 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

During some of the work, expect to encounter large vehicles entering and exiting the roadway, construction noise and occasionally some delays in accessing driveways.

The City and the contractor will work together to minimize impact along the roadway —including providing quick access to driveways when needed.  No parking signs will be placed in advance where parking will be temporarily restricted.

This first phase of improvements is expected to be completed in August, with paving beginning soon after.
