[ARCHIVED] City Rezones School District Properties

Municipal Court

During its Jan. 21 meeting, the Issaquah City Council approved, with a 5-2 vote, changes to the land-use designation and zoning of three parcels – commonly called the Providence Heights property – that the Issaquah School District recently acquired.

The approved new zoning would enable the construction of a high school.

There are still many steps required before the district’s proposed high school and elementary school could be built – many of which include engagement with the community:

  • District submitting a pre-application and application for a Master Site Plan
  • Community conference (informal public meeting hosted by the Development Commission)
  • Staff review/report
  • Development Commission hearing
  • City Council decision
