[ARCHIVED] Montreux: Police Respond to Hostage Situation

Shortly after 7:30 p.m. Feb. 15, Issaquah Police responded to a suspicious circumstance call in the 5200 block of Isola Place Northwest.

A 28-year-old white male, later revealed to be a relative to the resident, had entered the home. The male, armed with a handgun, took the resident, her fiancé and her two small children (8 and 5 year old) hostage. Officers established a perimeter, and our Special Operations Team with negotiators were called to assist. After approximately five and a half long hours of negotiations, the children and the resident’s fiancé were released safely without physical harm. The resident remains inside with the suspect.

Over the course of this incident, numerous other law enforcement agencies have responded to assist, including other regional tactical and negotiator teams.
