Did you know that in 2018, 14% of morning traffic was parents driving children to school? We can reduce that number with SchoolPool!
Issaquah SchoolPool serves to help inspire families to connect and set up carpools, walking or biking groups. SchoolPool helps families save money, cut carbon emissions, reduce traffic, improve health and create community.
Last year in King County, families with incomes under $50,000 per year spent about 30% of their budget on transportation. By carpooling, families share driving costs with other parents. Or, skip the car all together and set up a walking or biking group.
Learn how you can get involved today:
- Visit King County SchoolPool to get guides to set up a sustainable transportation program.
- Talk with your PTSA: Attend meetings to talk about supporting walking, biking, carpooling, or busing to school.
- Volunteer with your PTSA to help organize a Walk or Bike to School Day event.
- Reach out to other families: Pick one day to share the trip to school with neighbors to test out a new way to get around.
