City crews will be working March 10 to fill a small sinkhole along Southeast Newport Way at Lewis Creek, just east of Lakemont Boulevard.
Traffic impacts will be minimal as the work will be contained to the shoulder—the work is expected to take one day.
In the next two weeks, Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will be performing repair work to the Lewis Creek culvert, including grouting pipe separations and patching, which is a suspected cause of this small sinkhole.
A full culvert replacement by WSDOT is anticipated in the next two years.
