[ARCHIVED] Special Emphasis: Street Racing Enforcement

Issaquah Police are receiving reports of illegal street racing throughout the City and are placing a special emphasis on enforcement.

If you witness racing, please call 911 and provide the following (if you can safely – please do not follow the vehicles):

  • Vehicle and driver descriptions
  • License plate numbers
  • Location and last direction of travel
  • Other details that could be helpful in an investigation (Was there people in the area? How many people were in the vehicle? Did the vehicles swerve or cause others to brake?)

Police will issue citations, make arrests, and have vehicles towed involved in illegal street racing.

Hear a loud muffler? That is not always a sign of street racing, and police will need more evidence before pulling over a vehicle.

Street racing is not only illegal, but extremely unsafe. Drivers and spectators are often injured because of reckless driving. Please help keep our community safe – street racing is not worth the risk.
